1. Information We Collect

ScamGuard Pro collects minimal information to provide our service:

• Account information — If you create an account, we collect your email address and password (encrypted) via Memberstack, our authentication provider.
• Payment information — Processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• Usage data — Anonymous, aggregated data about how features are used (e.g., number of checks performed). No personally identifiable information.

We do not collect your name, address, phone number, or any other personal information unless you voluntarily provide it when contacting us.

2. How We Handle Your Messages

This is the most important section of this policy. When you paste a message, URL, or phone number into ScamGuard Pro for analysis:

• Your message is sent securely to our AI analysis system via an encrypted API call.
• The AI analyzes the content and returns a verdict.
• Your message is immediately discarded after analysis. It is never written to a database, log file, or any storage system.
• We do not use your messages to train AI models.
• We do not share your messages with any third party.
• Our team never reads your messages.

The only exception: if you voluntarily share a message when contacting our support team via email, that message may be retained in our email system solely to respond to your inquiry.

3. Usage Data

We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data such as the total number of checks performed, general feature usage patterns, and error rates. This data cannot be used to identify you and is used solely to improve our service.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies or fingerprinting to track individual users.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

ScamGuard Pro uses minimal browser local storage to:

• Track your free check count (stored only on your device, never sent to our servers).
• Remember your login status via Memberstack's authentication system.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

5. Payment Information

All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. We never receive, see, or store your credit card information. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

Your subscription status and billing history are managed by Memberstack and Stripe. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by contacting us.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.

We work with the following service providers who may process limited data on our behalf:

• Anthropic — AI analysis (messages are processed but not stored per Anthropic's API terms)
• Memberstack — User authentication and account management
• Stripe — Payment processing
• Cloudflare — Website hosting, security, and analytics

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

7. Security

We take security seriously. Our measures include:

• All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
• API keys stored securely in Cloudflare Worker environment variables — never exposed in code
• Cloudflare DDoS protection and Web Application Firewall
• Passwords hashed and salted by Memberstack — we never see your password
• No message storage means no message data can be breached

8. Your Rights (CCPA & Privacy Rights)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to Know — You can request what personal information we have about you.
• Right to Delete — You can request deletion of your personal information.
• Right to Opt-Out — We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
• Right to Non-Discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

9. Children's Privacy

ScamGuard Pro is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of our service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
